While a globally recognized brand, Salesforce had made limited investments in building brand awareness at the corporate level. Mediasmith was asked to prove the value of brand advertising through a regional test. After analyzing media sources, we recommended a regional test in five major metros based on defined audience size and target reach and frequency required to increase awareness, and then coordinated with research and sales teams to align on key metrics vs control cities. Using digital, OOH, local TV, local radio, and streaming programming, the test increased awareness and consideration vs. control by 2.5x, exceeded traffic, lead volume and engagement goals, and informed the foundation for a new “Top Cities” program. Mediasmith was asked to manage brand awareness investments for the next 5 years.

Social

Amazon Music created a holiday playlist exclusively for Prime members. But how do you get people’s ears during the noisiest (and most expensive) season of the year? We used a creative contest, savvy media buys, and the artists’ own voices to cut through the noise and generate buzz on a budget. We designed and developed a socially integrated microsite that encouraged fans to design the artwork for their favorite artist’s song on the playlist. The covers were then made available for the public to vote on, with the winning covers being featured as official artwork for the playlist as well as posted on as the cover photo for each artist's social profile during the holiday season. We leveraged Prime Video pre-roll, on-site ads, and organic social media to create massive awareness for the contest. Then we supercharged this campaign with influencers: the artists themselves - guided by a campaign guidebook and assets. Small spend. Big numbers.

Winnebago
Winnebago is an iconic American brand–renowned as the symbol of freedom to explore the open road. We partnered with their Advanced Technology Group and BMW to imagine, research, design, build and deliver a companion app that could interact with their new vehicle: the first electric RV. In 10 short weeks. We started with a crash course (no pun intended) in automotive electronics, test driving other systems and extrapolating how we’d need to build a solution for a brand new vehicle nobody had seen before. Over the next 10 weeks, we researched, prototyped and built the app, ultimately delivering a fully functional product in time for launch, and completing the promise of the world’s first electric RV. With the prototype and app system ready to launch, the newest Winnebago hit the road and traversed a 1,300 mile journey (and counting). We were proud to copilot this maiden voyage.
